Catalog, factory and standards administration

You can start Catalog, Factory and Standards Admin (How) only if you have already created at least one factory in the factory catalog or the ...\std\fact folder includes at least one folder with standards.

Activate Catalog, Factory and Standards Admin in one of the following ways

• Menu bar: Create Precast Catalogs and Configurations

• Palette: Tools Create area in the following module(s):

Catalogs and configurations

You can use this tool to specify which factory and which standard you want to use as the default setting. In addition, you can select the path for the catalogs and configurations.
In accordance with the path settings for the current project, you can choose between the following two options:

• Office/customer: the program uses the catalogs and configurations in the ..\std\fact or ..\std\fact\_mandant folder of the office standard. If you work with customers, the program will use the latter.
• Project: the program creates the new ..\fact folder in the project folder and copies the catalogs and configurations of the office standard or customer set in the Customer box to the current project. You cannot use customers in a project!

Note: When you switch from Office/customer to Project or vice versa or if you select Project again, the program will issue warnings, making sure you do not change the settings inadvertently.
If a project takes its catalogs and configurations from the project, you can switch between project view and office view or customer view at bottom right in the dialog box of the Catalog menu and Configuration Menu. Project view is set by default.

In addition, you create the data structure for new factories and standards, which are detected automatically by the program, so that they are added to the Configuration menu. You can also use configurations you have already saved or you can copy configurations from other factories/standards.

When you select this option, the program does not create a data structure for the new factory/standard; in other words, a new subfolder is not created in the ...\std\fact folder. As a result, the new factory/standard is not added to the configuration menu.

Note: The CAD system issues a message when you select a factory for which a data structure has not yet been created. You can then generate the missing data structure straight from the CAD system without having to switch to the Catalogs and Configurations module.

OK Create data structure

When you select this option, a data structure without configuration files is generated for the new factory/standard; in other words, a new, empty subfolder with the name of the new factory/standard is created in the ...\std\fact folder. This adds the new factory/standard to the configuration menu where you can create the factory-specific configuration files (*_cfg.def).

Note: These functions are also available in the CAD system unless you have created the data structure for a new factory/standard in the Catalogs and Configurations module.
