Parameters for automatic placement

Tool(s): FF Reinforcement (Additional Reinforcement)

Automatic depth placement is used to place the bending shapes of the component in the view created. The parameters set in the dialog box are used.

The following parameters are provided:

Placing depth from/to: this is where you define the placing region. The absolute coordinates of the 3D shell need to be entered or selected in the list box.
As an alternative to numerical entry, you can also define the points where the placement is to begin and end by clicking points on the shell with the right mouse button. When you select the Custom depth option on the shortcut menu, you can click any points to define the placing region.
The placing area defined is displayed on screen. If the points defined by clicking produce a Placing depth from value that is greater than the Placing depth to value, the two values are interchanged.

Inclined placing line: when this option is enabled, the points clicked define the start and end of the placement. Otherwise, a perpendicular is dropped from the points clicked onto the placing line, which is derived from the additional wall reinforcement placed.
After you have enabled this option and clicked a point, the program always uses the points you defined last. Entering a numerical value changes the position in the direction of the placing line, which is derived from the additional wall reinforcement placed.

Length / bar spacing / offset to region: based on the reinforcement parameters, the values for a continuous placing region are displayed here. You can add and edit additional regions.

• Click the existing length and enter the value for the first region.
  Click the length of the last region again and enter a smaller value if you want to add more regions after the last region or
  Click a value with the right mouse button and enter a new region that is 0.00 long in front of the selected region.
• Click Length, bar spacing and/or Offset to region and change the values.
  Changing the existing length causes the length of the following region to change. When you lengthen the last region, the previous region is shortened accordingly; reducing the length automatically inserts a new region.

  Fixed lengths at start and end

  When creating a placement that consists of at least three regions, you can define fixed length values for the first region and the final region as described below:

  1. Click the length calculated for the entire placing region and enter the length of the first region.

     The program creates a second region of the residual placing length while taking the spacing between regions into account.

  2. If necessary, change this spacing, click the length of the second region and enter the length of the final region.

     The program creates a third region of the residual placing length while taking the spacing between regions into account. Now the second region is as long as the final region.

  3. If necessary, modify the spacing and change the length of the second (penultimate) region to the length of the final region.
     

  Note: If you wish to change the length of the final region later, you need to alter the length of the penultimate region accordingly.

  You can delete individual regions using the shortcut menu. The length of the region you delete is added to the subsequent region. Deleting the last region lengthens the previous region.
