Modifying mark numbers

Module(s): Precast Slab + Precast Wall + Structural Precast Elements

You can use the Modify Mark Number tool to change the mark numbers and precast IDs of slab elements, wall elements and structural precast elements. All the elements in the current drawing file and in drawing files open in edit mode are taken into account.

You can specify which mark number is assigned to the elements during design or modification. This setting can be made for each individual element type in the Design configuration entry. The precast IDs, on the other hand, are incremented automatically (starting with 1) for all slab and wall elements and for each structural precast element type (column, foundation, ...).
Precast IDs ensure that the individual precast elements can be identified uniquely even when they have identical mark numbers.

To change mark numbers

1. Click Modify Mark Number (How).
   

   Activate Modify Mark Number in one of the following ways

   • Menu bar: Modify Precast Factories Precast Floor/Precast Wall/Structural Precast Units

   • Palette: Tools Modify area in the following module(s):

   Precast Floor

   Precast Wall

   Structural Precast Units

2. The Modify Mark Number dialog box appears. Select Mark number for the type and specify a mode.
   • Ascending: the program gives the selected elements new marks in ascending order. If a number has already been used, the program takes the next highest free number.
     As soon as the program reaches the maximum mark number, it uses the next free number and starts at 1 again.
   • Identical: in addition to rearranging the marks in ascending order, the program checks all the selected elements to see whether there are identical marks. The following criteria are checked:
     • Identical geometry (volume, outline, recesses, ...)
     • Identical element attributes (material, …)
     • Identical number and position of fixtures and identical fixture attributes and variables
     • Identical reinforcement (position of reinforcement in precast element, parameters, bar parameters such as bending pin diameter, hook lengths, …) and reinforcement attributes (e.g. steel grade)

       Note: When checking elements for identical marks, the program also compares elements with different directions of span.

3. Enter the starting number for the marks. The largest possible mark number is 99999999.
4. Select the element type for structural precast elements.

   In the case of precast slabs and walls, all element types are rearranged together.

5. If the mode is set to Identical, you can select the
   • Select basis option if the rearrangement is to take into account elements whose mark numbers are used for the selected elements if the above criteria for identical elements are met and/or the
   • Change entire group option if you want to change all the elements belonging to the groups of selected elements. Otherwise, only the selected elements are changed.
6. Click OK to confirm the dialog box, select the basis elements, if necessary, and select all the elements you want to change.
   
   

   • To select a single element, click it.
   • To select elements in a region, use the left mouse button to open a selection rectangle around the elements you want to select
   • To include all the elements in the current document, click All in the Input options or press CTRL+A. Please note that this option is not available for all tools.

   When selecting elements, you can use the Filter Assistant to apply a filter based on element types and/or properties. For more information, see Filter Assistant.

Note: If you combine identical precast elements from different groups into one group, there may be two or more element plans. As each group can have only one element plan, a message is displayed. If you confirm this message, the new group is given one of these element plans. To use the element plan of a specific element, define this element as the basis element.
If the rearrangement causes an element to be split off from the group, the existing element plan including change notices is copied.

To change precast IDs

1. Click Modify Mark Number (How).
2. The Modify Mark Number dialog box appears. Select Precast ID for the type.
3. Enter the starting number for the precast IDs. The largest possible precast ID is 99999999.
4. Select the element type for structural precast elements.

   In the case of precast slabs and walls, all element types are rearranged together.

5. Click OK to confirm the dialog box and select all the elements you want to change.
   

Note: If the precast IDs of columns and foundations of structural precast elements are linked, they cannot be modified manually.
