Using handles for modifications

You can use handles to change the placing length, diameter, spacing and number of linear placements. It is also possible to change the dimension that is perpendicular to the placing line. You can modify the entire placement or just parts thereof.

To modify linear placements using handles

1. Select the part of the placement you want to modify.
   To select the entire placement, press the SHIFT key and click. You can also enclose it in a selection rectangle.

   Allplan displays the Central move handle as well as Geometry handles and Point handles. In addition, you can see a selection box for the diameter and a data entry box for the placing length and the spacing or number of pieces.

2. Modify the placement. To enter exact values, use the coordinate dialog boxes.
   • Use the context toolbar to move, copy, rotate or mirror the placement.
   • Click the Central move handle and move the placement to its new position. You can copy the placement by pressing and holding the CTRL key.
   • Click a Geometry handle and change the placing length in the direction of the placement. You can also enter values in the data entry box. Use the arrows to define the direction in which you want to apply the change.
   • Click a Point handle and change the dimension that is perpendicular to the placement.
   • Select a diameter in the list box. If you selected only a part of the placement, the modified placement will get a new mark number.
   • Change the spacing or number by entering a value in the data entry box. In order to toggle between these two parameters, click the symbol to the left of the data entry box.
