Texture (glossy reflection)

Surface settings

You can choose to use a texture for Glossy Reflection. This texture simulates the surface's luster and reflection.

Using reflection mapping, you can produce reflective areas and areas that are not reflective, even if the value for glossy reflection is >0. Take a tile texture, for example: the tiles are white; the gaps between the tiles are black. If you load this texture as a reflection map, the areas with tiles will reflect light. The joints will not reflect light.

Select the texture in one of the following ways:

You can select the bitmap files from any path by clicking in the Open File dialog box. Allplan automatically copies these files to the ...\std\design folder.

Note: The program saves custom surfaces (and bitmap areas) in the project in which they are used. This ensures that all the settings of a project are available after it has been imported or exported. All surf files and the associated texture files used are copied to the project folder (”design\” subfolder) and then read from there.
