Texture (bump)

Surface settings

You can choose to use a texture to simulate bumps on the surface. The geometry of the element does not change.

The program calculates the size of the bumps from the brightness values of the bitmap, thus determining how far the bumps stick out. These values define a contour, refracting the normal vectors of the surface. Although the surface is smooth, you can see three-dimensional bumps in the rendered image.

Select the texture in one of the following ways:

You can select the bitmap files from any path by clicking in the Open File dialog box. Allplan automatically copies these files to the ...\std\design folder.

Note: The program saves custom surfaces (and bitmap areas) in the project in which they are used. This ensures that all the settings of a project are available after it has been imported or exported. All surf files and the associated texture files used are copied to the project folder (”design\” subfolder) and then read from there.
