Parameters for polygon splitting

In the Split polygon area, you can define the splitting type, the general overlap length and the length and overlap of the individual bars.

Splitting type

You can select the type of splitting; this defines the position of the rest. You can also do this in the graphics area.

Rest at end of polygon: places the rest at the end of the polygon.
Rest in center of polygon: places the rest in the middle of the polygon. If there are only two parts, they are created with the entire support/mesh length and the overlap is increased accordingly.
Rest at start and end of polygon: divides and places the rest at the start and end of the polygon. If there are only two parts, they are given the same length.
Equal lengths: all parts are of the same length. The overlap length is adjusted accordingly.

Overlap length for everything

You can enter a general value that is used for all overlaps in polygon splitting. Click to have the program calculate the value.

Bars

You can use and to select the individual parts of polygon splitting. You can change the Length and Overlap length in relation to the next part.

When you change the length, the program automatically adjusts the length of the last part. If the maximum length is exceeded, an additional part is created. Lengthening the last part leads to an increase in the general overlap length; reducing the length of the last part results in an additional part. Selecting the same splitting type again restores the default values.

You can enter the value for the overlap or have the program calculate it.
