Copying elements in general arrangement and reinforcement drawings
Module(s): Associative Views
There are a number of tools for copying general arrangement and reinforcement drawings. What is copied and where depends on the elements you select.
Working with drawing files
Associative views and sections are always created across drawing files. Therefore, the model data and the associative views and sections can be in different drawing files. This creates references between the drawing files.
- The
Copy tool on the Edit toolbar always creates the copied elements in the corresponding drawing files with the original data. If you select all model data, only this data is copied. The views are unaffected by this. If you select individual elements, the copied elements are displayed both in the model and in the views. You can address area reinforcement (bars and meshes) as a single entity by clicking the placing polygon.
If you click the view border or select all the elements of a view/section by enclosing them in a selection rectangle, the program does not copy the elements themselves but the view/section. - The
Copy, Move Elements between Documents... tool on the File menu copies the selected elements to the selected drawing file. If you select all model data, only this data is copied. If you select individual elements, the program copies the model data of these elements and creates new drawing file references to the existing views/sections. The entire placement is copied even if you select only one element or the placing polygon of a single bar or mesh placement.
If you click the view border or select all the elements of a view/section by enclosing them in a selection rectangle, the program copies the view/section and creates new drawing file references to the existing model data.
The destination drawing file cannot be displayed when you copy data. - The
Copy and
Paste tools of the Clipboard copy the selected elements to the selected drawing file. If you select all model data, only this data is copied. If you select individual elements, the program copies the model data of these elements, adjusts the existing views/sections and creates new drawing file references, if necessary. The entire placement is copied even if you select only one element or the placing polygon of a single bar or mesh placement.
If you click the view border or select all the elements of a view/section by enclosing them in a selection rectangle, the program copies the view/section and creates new drawing file references to the existing model data, if necessary.
Working with NDW files
In conjunction with NDW files, copying is only possible with the
Copy tool on the Edit toolbar. This tool behaves as described above.
