Setting the precision of measured values

You can specify the number of decimal places for the values measured. The values are rounded off accordingly. You can copy these values to the Clipboard or use them for other tools.

To set the precision of measured values

  1. Click Measure (How).
  2. Measure an element (a line, for example).
  3. In the Measured values dialog box, click Set precision.

The Precision dialog box is displayed.

  4. Specify the number of decimal places (1 to 9) for the different types of measurement.

Note: The precision of values measured in inches and feet depends on the setting for Precision for entries in inches/feet in the Options - Desktop environment. This value also applies if the format of fraction is set to Decimal.

  5. Click OK to confirm the Precision dialog box.

The settings are valid until you change them.

Important: measured values that are rounded off can cause significant numerical inaccuracies during calculations.
