Finding text in large layouts

To find text in large layouts, you can use Find and Replace in combination with Zoom in on selected objects (Properties palette).

To find text in large layouts

1. Click Find and Replace (How).
   

   Activate Find and Replace in one of the following ways

   • Menu bar: Modify Text

   • Toolbar: Basic Tools Text flyout
   • Palette: Tools Modify area in the following module(s):

   Text

   Key Plan

2. Select the area where you want to find the text, for example, the entire layout.
   

   • To select a single element, click it.
   • To select elements in a region, use the left mouse button to open a selection rectangle around the elements you want to select
   • To include all the elements in the current document, click All in the Input options or press CTRL+A. Please note that this option is not available for all tools.

   When selecting elements, you can use the Filter Assistant to apply a filter based on element types and/or properties. For more information, see Filter Assistant.

3. Type in the text you want to find and press ENTER to confirm.

   The program selects the text found.

4. In the Properties palette, click Zoom in on selected objects.

   The program zooms in on the text found.

5. If you want to replace it, you can now type in the new text.
