Specifying conventions for the names of layout files

Sending layouts and other files using Allplan Exchange (how to)

You can name the layout files you have set up for distribution according to different criteria. To do this, you can use layout attributes and general attributes, which you can combine in any sequence. File names can consist of up to 260 characters.

You can define a separate convention for each export operation. The following section shows how to specify the convention used for an export operation.

To specify conventions for file names

• Allplan Exchange dialog box (How) is open.
  

  Activate the Allplan Exchange dialog box in one of the following ways

  • The Layout module is open.

  • Menu bar: Create Layout Allplan Exchange Layout Distribution

  • Toolbar: Basic Tools Layout flyout Allplan Exchange Layout Distribution
  • Palette: Tools Basic family Create area Allplan Exchange Layout Distribution

1. In the border of the Allplan Exchange dialog box, click Settings at bottom left.

   The Settings dialog box appears.

2. Specify the conventions for layout files as described in "Defining conventions for file names".
3. Click OK to close the Settings dialog box.

Or to load a convention you have already defined:

1. In the border of the Allplan Exchange dialog box, click Settings at bottom left.

   The Settings dialog box appears.

2. Load the convention from the relevant favorite file as described in "Loading conventions saved for file names".
3. Click OK to close the Settings dialog box.
