Labeling precast elements

Module(s): Precast Slab + Precast Wall + Structural Precast Elements

You can use the Label Precast Elements tool to label precast elements you created without labels or whose original labels have been deleted.

To label precast elements later

1. Click Label Precast Elements (How).
   

   Activate Label Precast Elements in one of the following ways

   • Menu bar: Modify Precast Precast Slab/Precast Wall/Structural Precast Elements

   • Palette: Tools Change area in the following module(s):

   Precast Slab

   Precast Wall

   Structural Precast Elements

2. Select the elements you want to label.
   

   • To select a single element, click it.
   • To select elements in a region, use the left mouse button to open a selection rectangle around the elements you want to select
   • To include all the elements in the current document, click All in the Input options or press CTRL+A. Please note that this option is not available for all tools.

   For more information on the options available for selecting elements in Allplan, see Selecting elements, overview.

   When selecting elements, you can use the Filter Assistant to apply a filter based on element types and/or properties. For more information, see Filter Assistant.

3. Click the right mouse button to confirm.
4. Specify the form and contents of the label:
   • Click Default label to select the label defined in the configurations. The program creates the default label for plan view or for associative views, depending on whether the precast element you have selected is in plan or in an associative view.
   • Click Label Style if you want to use a label style for the label.
     

     Click Label Style on the context toolbar and select a label style:

     • The label styles that come with Allplan are in the Default folder.
     • Custom label styles are in the Office, Project or Private folders.
     • Imported label styles can also be in the External path.
   • If the Object Manager module is installed:
     Click Object label to label precast elements in the same way as in the Object Manager module.
     Click Toggle to change the text parameters.
     

     When you have installed the Object Manager module, you can label precast elements in the same way as objects.

     You can add attributes to labels as follows:

     • Select the check boxes in front of the attributes you want to include in the label.

     You can use the arrows near the bottom of the dialog box to alter the sequence in which the attributes are displayed in the label:

     • Moves the selected attribute to the top
     • Moves the selected attribute to the bottom
     • Moves the selected attribute up a line
     • Moves the selected attribute down a line
   • Click Match parameters if you want to use a label style or an object label you have already placed.
5. Click to position the text in the workspace; use the tools in the input options.
   

   In the input options click

   • Horiz
     to place the label so that it is horizontal.
   • Vertic
     to place the label so that it is vertical.
   • Angle
     to place the label at an angle. Before you place the label, enter the angle in the dialog line, click a direction line in the workspace or specify the point(s) of rotation and direction.
   • Size:
     to change the size of the label. Enter a factor in the dialog line.

Note: When you select this tool on the shortcut menu, the program labels only the original precast element in plan. You cannot use this tool to label the associative view of the precast element.
