Modifying local placement parameters

Module(s): Mesh Reinforcement

You can use the Modify Local Placement Parameters tool to modify the mesh type within a region, the number off management by altering the layer and/or component factor and you can toggle the direction of the mesh diagonals. In addition, you can configure whether or not pieces are added to the number off if you are not working in Reinforce with 3D model mode.
You cannot use this tool to modify MWS meshes.

To modify the placement parameters in a region

1. Click Modify Local Placement Parameters (How).
   

   Activate Modify Local Placement Parameters in one of the following ways

   • Menu bar: Modify Engineering Mesh Reinforcement

   • Palette: Tools Modify area in the following module(s):

   Mesh Reinforcement

   • Configuration: Engineering Engineering Modify flyout
2. Select the area to be modified:
   • by clicking a mesh or
   • opening a selection rectangle or using the brackets feature or
   • by clicking a placement polygon (this will select all the meshes in the polygon).
3. Select the new mesh type:
   • Click Mesh Type to select a defined mesh type in the list or
   • click the box beside Mesh Type and enter the mesh identifier manually.
4. Click Factor (layer factor) to change the number of layers.
   

   For congruent placements, you can enter a factor by which all the placements addressed are to be multiplied.
   The factor is entered in the label and the bar management and the schema are updated.

5. Click the Component Factor box to enter a factor for the component.
   

   You can enter a factor for typical details, entire components or placing areas that are displayed just once but that occur several times. All the placements addressed are multiplied by this factor.
   The factor is not entered in the label, However, the bar management and the schema are updated.

6. You can control the number (quantity) and representation of the modified area using the following:
   • Click Add/Ignore Number to include the bars in number off or to ignore them.
     

     Note: This button is only available when Reinforce with 3D model is not active. If you are working in Reinforce with 3D model mode, number off management is automatic. In this case, this parameter does not need to be modified by the user.

     When the button is set to +, the number off information for meshes that have already been placed increases by one with every additional mesh that you place.

     If you merely want to display a mesh that has already been placed in a different view, you can lock this counting feature temporarily.

     Click + or - to block or reactivate the counting function:

     • + means that the function continues counting
     • - means that the function stops counting (i.e. off)
   • Click Diagonal to toggle between / (the direction of the diagonal).
7. Click OK to confirm. The region updates to reflect the new settings.
