Rules for creating walls using 'Create Walls from Rooms'
The walls are created based on the following rules:
- Exterior walls
- Exterior walls are
Straight Components. Short, straight wall sections are used to approximate arcs.
- Interior walls
- Areas between parallel boundaries of rooms are converted to
Straight Components. - Areas between boundaries of rooms, which are not parallel, are converted to
Freeform Walls. - Short, straight wall sections and freeform walls are used to approximate areas between curved boundaries of rooms.
- Material selection, attributes and surface elements are assigned based on the settings of the individual wall types (depending on the rules for calculating the wall thickness). The same applies to freeform walls.
- The thickness of straight walls is always the same as the offset between the room boundaries.
