Importing NMK files

Program: Allplan 2016
NMK files contain individual smart symbols.
To import NMK files
- Download the file.
- Decompress the file and save it in any folder on your computer.
Tip: It makes sense to use the same folder for data of the same format.
- Start Allplan 2016.
- Open the Library palette in one of the following ways:
- Click
Smart Symbol Catalog (How). - Open the Library palette.
If you want to see only smart symbols, click
Filter and hide Symbols and SmartParts.
- Select the External path folder.
- Click
Add path at the bottom of the toolbar and select the folder with the decompressed files. Allplan automatically converts the data if this is necessary.
Note: If the data are from the current Allplan version, you can use Windows Explorer to copy them to a folder in the library.
- Copy the folders or library elements you want to use from the External path folder to a different folder, such as the Office, Private or Project folder.
- Double-click the preview or drag the smart symbol into the workspace.
- Place the smart symbol.
The input options provide a number of tools you can use to place it.
Exporting NMK files
Smart symbols are saved as NMK files to the Library palette. Select the superordinate folder and click this folder with the right mouse button. On the shortcut menu, select Open in Windows Explorer. Copy the required smart symbol file and give it to your partner office.
