Facade settings tab

Settings dialog box

Creation

Smart symbol (enabled by default)

When you activate this option, the elements of the facade are created as smart symbols. Otherwise, the elements consist of 3D objects.

This value is saved with the facade.

Combined (disabled by default)

When you activate this option, the linear elements of the facade are combined where necessary.

This value is saved with the facade.

Grouped (enabled by default)

When you activate this option, the elements of the facade are grouped. When the Smart symbol option is active, the smart symbols are combined into a smart symbol group.
Otherwise, the facade elements are created as an element group consisting of 3D objects.

Note: When this option is not selected, facades cannot be addressed and modified as a single entity after they have been created!

This value is not saved; i.e. you need to make the relevant setting before you create or modify railings.

Subdivide combined fields again (disabled by default)

When you activate this option, you can subdivide combined fields of the facade again.

Note: Selecting this option changes the coordinates of combined fields. You may need to make new assignments (combining of fields, subdivisions, objects). (A message indicating this is displayed.)

Horizontal subdivision parallel to 1st edge (disabled by default)

When this option is active, the horizontal subdivision is always aligned with the 1st edge. When this option is not active, the horizontal subdivision is always created so that it is parallel to the XY plane.

Use this option only if rotating a facade in space has inadvertently caused the subdivision direction to change!

Representation

Pen thickness for intersected elements (default = 0.25)

Specify the pen thickness to be used to mark the intersected element.

Pen thickness for visible edges (enabled by default)

Specify the pen thickness to be used to draw the elements that are not intersected.

This value is saved with the facade.

Fill for intersected elements (enabled by default)

Make sure that this option is active. Otherwise, fills are not applied to intersected elements.

This value is saved with the facade.

Horizontal clipping plane at (default = 1.00)

Enter the height of the horizontal clipping plane relative to the minimum Z value of the facade. This value is saved with the facade. In plan view, you can only see the facade elements that are intersected by the plane and below it.

Abstract representation (disabled by default)

When you activate this option, the facade is displayed as a grid at certain scales.

This value is saved with the facade.

Scale ranges for detailed representation (default = 1.00/100.00)

Enter the minimum and maximum reference scales for the detailed representation. This value is saved with the facade.

Scale ranges for abstract representation (default = 100.00/1000.00)

Enter the minimum and maximum reference scales for the abstract representation.

This value is saved with the facade.

Geometry

Linear elements at edges (disabled by default)

When you activate this option, linear elements are created at all edges (corners) of the facade.

This value is saved with the facade.

Subdivision of current curve (default = 16)

You can specify how many segments are created when curves are subdivided.

This value is saved with the relevant curve.

Smart symbols at normal position (enabled by default)

If the fills are not displayed within the mullions and fields of vertical facades, please disable this option for the facade in question. As a result, when you create smart symbols, they are no longer placed at the "standardized position", which would be required for list display.

This value is not saved with the facade.

Edge offset (default = 0.00)

You can set an edge offset that applies to all edges or you can specify separate offset values for each edge. To set different offsets for the individual edges, click the >> button. The boxes for entering the individual values are displayed.

This option is useful if you want to fit a facade into an opening. To do this, enter edge offset values that are greater than or equal to half the mullion width.

These values are saved with the facade.
