Setbacks

Module(s): Urban Planning

You can use the Setbacks tool to define setbacks.

To determine the setbacks of a building

1. Click Setbacks (How).
   

   Activate Setbacks in one of the following ways

   • Menu bar: Create Terrain Urban Planning

   • Palette: Tools Create area in the following module(s):

   Urban Planning

   • Configuration: Landscaping/Urban Planning Urban Planning flyout
2. Switch to 3 Viewports (How).
   

   Activate 3 Viewports in one of the following ways

   • Menu bar: Window
3. Click the building.
4. Click the first and second point of the roof edge.
   In isometric view, click the point where the eaves and the wall intersect and click the ridge point.

   B 2nd point

5. Click the second point for the setbacks.
   In plan, click the opposite wall corner

6. Specify the side to which the setbacks are to be applied.

   

   D Side

7. The system determines the following values at the gable end:
   Wall height 1: H1 Wa
   Wall height 2: H2 Wa
   Height of gable: H Gab
   Angle of gable: A GAb
8. Define the attributes.
   

   Click

   • Hatch to select a hatching style.
   • GFact to enter a factor for the gable height. These factors may differ depending on the building regulations used.
     The wall height (H1-Wa) plus the gable height multiplied by the factor of the gable (G-Fact) result in the height H1. H1=(H1-Wa)+(H-Gable*GFact)
   • DFact to enter a factor for the roof height. These factors may differ depending on the building regulations used.
   • HFact to assign factors to H1 and H2.
     This will result in ‘Depth 1’ and ‘Depth 2’.
   • T-Min to set a minimum value for the setback.
9. Click OK to apply your settings.

   The system determines the following values on the eaves side:
   Wall height 1: H1 Wa
   Wall height 2: H2 Wa
   Height of roof: H Roof
   Angle of roof: A Roof.

10. Repeat steps 4 through 9 to define more areas.
11. Press ESC to finish.
