Settings for IFC export, import

You can use this dialog box to specify settings for exporting and importing IFC data.

How to open the dialog box

Exchange favorites

Current exchange favorite

You can see the available exchange favorites. Click to select the current exchange favorite.

Find...

Use this to find exchange favorites.

Save as...

Use this to save the current settings as an exchange favorite.

Remove

Use this to remove the selected exchange favorite. Allplan does not physically delete the exchange favorite, but it merely removes the favorite from the Current exchange favorite list. You cannot remove exchange favorites that come with Allplan.

About...

Displays information on the selected exchange favorite. You can edit the info text of your own exchange favorites.

Coordinates and length parameters

Unit

This is where you set the unit with which the file being converted (the source file) was created (when importing) or with which the exported file (the destination file) is to be further edited (when exporting). You should discuss this with your data exchange partner.

Note: In some systems, the unit in which lengths and coordinates are saved is predefined and must therefore not be altered here. If you want to adjust coordinates and lengths, use the Resizing factor option.

Resizing factor

You can use this to enlarge (>1) or reduce (<1) coordinates and length values in the data being converted. This parameter is always available (in contrast to the two parameters above).

Additional offset

This is where you can move the data by a value you specify. Please note that this changes the coordinates themselves. Use this option only when you do not need to export the data again.

Note: The offset specified in the Project Settings is not taken into account. You can specify the offset value manually. Use a positive value for exporting data and a negative value for (re)importing data.

Export options

Certified CV2.0 data export

Select this option to export data of the Coordination View 2.0 subset only. Export is certified by buildingSMART. If you select this option, Allplan selects the Elements to be transferred accordingly (shown in bold in the table).

Note: The Certified CV2.0 data export option is active by default. With this option, you obtain the best IFC quality possible. For example, this option does not export IFC Base Quantities. If you want to export a different selection of elements, deactivate this option and select the elements you want to transfer (for example, 2D elements).

Do not transfer hidden layers

If you select this option, Allplan does not transfer wall layers on hidden layers. The visible layers must connect, that is, be beside each other. There must not be any holes in between. Allplan reduces the geometry of the wall to the visible layers.

Structural Analysis View

Select this option to transfer structural data of the following architectural elements: wall, column, downstand beam, floor slab, upper slab and openings. Structural programs can use these data as the basis for calculations. Any settings for Additional offset are not taken into account; the Do not transfer hidden layers option is not available.

In the lower border of the dialog box

Save as a favorite

Saves the current settings in the dialog box to the Windows Registry. These settings are preset the next time you start the IFC interface.

Restore basic settings

Sets the dialog box back to its default setting.
