Creating walls from lines

You can use the Create Walls from Lines tool to automatically generate walls from existing lines.

To automatically generate walls based on existing lines

1. Click Create Walls from Lines (How).
   

   Activate Create Walls from Lines in one of the following ways

   • Menu bar: Create Architecture Special: Walls, Openings, Components

   • Palette: Tools Create area in the following module(s):

   Special: Walls, Openings, Components

2. If you want, you can now modify the wall's parameters.
   The context toolbar provides several options.
   

   • Click Properties to set the parameters in a dialog box.
   • Click Match Properties to copy the settings form an existing element.
   • Click Load favorite to select saved parameter combinations.
3. Select the lines which are to be used to make the new walls.
   

   • To select a single element, click it.
   • To select elements in a region, use the left mouse button to open a selection rectangle around the elements you want to select
   • To include all the elements in the current document, click All in the Input options or press CTRL+A. Please note that this option is not available for all tools.

   When selecting elements, you can use the Filter Assistant to apply a filter based on element types and/or properties. For more information, see Filter Assistant.

4. Click in the workspace with the right mouse button to perform the operation.
5. Click in the workspace to define the construction layer with the highest number.
6. To create walls with different parameters, repeat steps 2 through 5.

   Three selected lines or a polyline is/are converted to three straight walls, which automatically intersect.

Note: A wall can extend across a number of pairs of reference planes. Allplan automatically calculates the heights of the walls.
