Define Intersection Conditions

Tool(s): Element for Fit

Note: The intersection conditions you define here have no effect on elements placed in 'fit to circle or outline' mode. In this case, the placed elements are intersected automatically, depending on the placing mode (roll, radial or pie placement) specified.

To define an element’s intersection conditions

  1. Click Element for Fit (How).
  2. Select the Element tab.
  3. Select a defined element.
  4. Click Intersections.
  5. Select the can be intersected property and define the method and intersection line.
  6. Click OK to confirm the settings.
  7. If Intersection line is not set to Anywhere, you now need to enter additional information about the element.
The Smart Fit dialog box closes:
  8. Place the element in the workspace.
  9. Enter the start and end points of the reference line.
The reference line is displayed in construction-line format. Depending on the selection made beforehand, enter the other intersection lines. The position of these lines is shown in the preview (see example).
  10. Select the cannot be intersected property if the element is one that cannot be intersected (e.g., light outlet, decorative tile). Define the element’s behavioral property by selecting either Last element projects or Do not place last element (see example).
