Error message "Insufficient memory, data lost"

Problem: Windows drivers generally create large volumes of data.

Consequently, the printer may issue the following message: "Insufficient memory, data lost".

Solution 1: If you work with Window drivers, try to use Allplan vector drivers (HPGL2_DESIGNJET and HPCOL_DESIGNJET).
These two drivers work on a vector-oriented basis; i.e. the data volume is usually small.
If the message still appears, go to solution 3 or 4.

Solution 2: If you work with older Windows drivers, try to use current Windows drivers.
Current Windows drivers are usually optimized; i.e. the volume of data is smaller.
You can download the Windows drivers you require from the homepage of the printer manufacturer.

Solution 3: If you work with HP DesignJet printers, you can use the latest Windows drivers of the printer manufacturer. These drivers send the data in strips to the printer. This makes it possible to output very large files.

You can download these drivers from
http://www.hp.com/cposupport/de/products/hp_designjet_printers/

After you have installed the latest driver, you can define the following settings at your printer (Printing Preferences... on the shortcut menu): click Advanced and switch from ...in printer to ...in computer.

This should eliminate the problem of data being lost on the printer.

Note: Please note that this approach requires a large paging file (you can change it in Vista: Start -> Control Panel -> System -> Advanced system settings -> Advanced -> Performance -> Settings -> Advanced -> Virtual Memory -> Change)
If you require the driver for HP DesignJet 650C (750C) Model B (E/A0-size), download the driver for HP DesignJet 650C (750C) (E/A0-size).

Solution 4: Install more RAM in your printer.
