Creating print files

Tip: You can use the Export HPGL File, Bitmap File tool to print one or more layouts to file in the HPGL/2 monochrome and HPGL/2 color formats. You do not need to define output channels when using this method.

To create a print file with Allplan vector drivers

• For this, at least one output channel needs to have been defined in the Services application.
  

  • On the Windows start menu, point to (All) Programs - Nemetschek - Allplan 2016 and click Services 2016.

1. Switch to the Layout module.
2. Set up the page as usual and place the layout border (unless you have defined it together with the page) and the documents.
3. Click Print Layouts (How).
   

   Activate Print Layouts in one of the following ways

   • Menu bar: Create Layout

   • Toolbar: Basic Tools Layout flyout
   • Palette: Tools Create area in the following module(s):

   Assembling layouts

4. Go to the Settings area on the Printer tab and select Allplan vector driver.
5. Select the output channel.
6. Select the Output to file option in the Output mode area.
7. Specify a file name, for example test (without an extension) in the Print File dialog box, select the file type, specify the path where to save the print file (Allplan proposes the folder set in the Options on the Desktop environment page, Save/load area, Folders for saving option; you can accept this folder). Then click Save to confirm.
8. Click
   • Start to create the print file.
     A print file of the p0x type is given the extension .pxx (xx is the number of the output channel). For example, output channel no. 01 results in .p01, output channel no. 02 results in .p02 and so on.
   • Cancel to quit the tool.
   • Close to save the settings without creating a print file.
     

Note: You can copy the print files to the external path and then to a storage medium using the File menu in the Services application. You can rename the print files in Windows Explorer.
