Entering special characters using the "Character Map"

Entering special characters

If you know the ISO code of a special character, enter the character by pressing and holding down the ALT key in the Text dialog box and typing in the number on the number pad.

If you do not know the ISO code of a special character, you can use the Character Map to enter special characters.

To use the Character Map to insert special characters with TrueType fonts

  1. To activate the Character Map, click Start on the Windows task bar, go to Programs, Accessories, System Tools and then click Character Map.
  2. Select a Font.

You can see all the characters available in the selected font.

  3. Click the special character you want to insert.
  4. Click Select and then Copy.
  5. Go back to Allplan’s text editor and place the cursor where you want to insert the special character. Then press CTRL+V.

Tip: You can also use drag-and-drop operations to insert special characters. Click the appropriate character in the Character Map (you get a close-up view of the character) and drag it into Allplan’s text editor.
