"Select layouts" dialog box

Depending on the tool, you can select one or more layouts in the Select layouts dialog box. You can specify which and how layouts are displayed.
To find entries in the layout structure, enter a search term in the box at the top and press the F3 key. To rename a layout, select it and then click it again or press the F2 key.

You have the following options to define which and how layouts are displayed:

• To display all subordinate entries of a node, select the node and expand it by clicking on the menu bar. Click to collapse all entries.
  Click to display the selection that was current when you opened the dialog box.
• You can use the shortcut menu of the All layouts folder to display all layouts or selected layouts only. When you select "Show layouts in use only" at bottom left in the dialog box, Allplan displays only the layouts that are currently in use.
  You can also use the shortcut menu to sort the layouts numerically or alphabetically.
  

  You can specify which layouts displayed in the All layouts folder. You can either display All layouts or show selected layouts only. To select layouts, type in their numbers separated by commas or spaces. To select a range of adjacent layouts, enter the first and last layout number.
  For performance reasons, layouts 1 to 1000 are displayed by default.

  If you want to display layouts 1 to 10, layout 15 and 20 and layouts 25 to 29, enter the following: 1-10,15,20,25-29. The current selection is displayed on the shortcut menu.

  It is also possible to display the layouts in use only.

  Note: You cannot specify which layouts are displayed in the other layout folders. These folders always show all the layouts assigned and associated.

  Note: If you have switched off the All layouts folder in the Open on a project-specific basis: layouts dialog box, the All layouts folder is also hidden in the "Select layouts" dialog box.

• To filter the layouts by type, you can use the Used layouts, Empty layouts and Linked layouts check boxes at the bottom of the dialog box. The check boxes that are actually available depend on the tool you have selected. The selected setting is used as the default when you open this dialog box again.
• Use the Layout filter. For more information, see Filtering layouts.
  

You have the following options to select one or more layouts:

• Select the check boxes of the relevant structural levels and layouts. Selecting or canceling the selection of a layout or linked layout automatically activates or deactivates the corresponding layout within the entire layout structure including all linked layouts.
  When Allplan expects you to select a single layout and you click a structural level, Allplan selects the first layout of this structural level. When Allplan expects you to select a number of layouts and you click a structural level, Allplan automatically selects all subordinate entries of the structural level clicked. When you click the check box while keeping the CTRL key pressed down, Allplan only selects the layouts that are directly assigned to the structural level in question.

  Tip: Click Cancel Selection before you select multiple layouts. This ensures that you do not select layouts inadvertently.

• You can also use to retrieve a layout selection saved as a favorite. Click to save the current selection as a favorite.

  Note: The folder where Allplan saves the favorite file depends on the setting for Proposed folders for saving favorite files in the Settings dialog box of the Open on a project-specific basis: layouts dialog box. By default, Allplan saves the layout selection to an XML file in the ...\selections folder.
