Assigning layouts to structural level

There are three ways to assign layouts to a structural level:

• You can drag them from the All layouts folder.
  Open the shortcut menu of the All layouts folder and specify the scope of the layouts displayed, select layouts and drag them to a structural level.
  

  You can specify which layouts displayed in the All layouts folder. You can either display All layouts or show selected layouts only. To select layouts, type in their numbers separated by commas or spaces. To select a range of adjacent layouts, enter the first and last layout number.
  For performance reasons, layouts 1 to 1000 are displayed by default.

  If you want to display layouts 1 to 10, layout 15 and 20 and layouts 25 to 29, enter the following: 1-10,15,20,25-29. The current selection is displayed on the shortcut menu.

  It is also possible to display the layouts in use only.

  Note: You cannot specify which layouts are displayed in the other layout folders. These folders always show all the layouts assigned and associated.

  Note: You can also select Copy + Paste under on the shortcut menu to assign layouts.

• You can use Assign layouts... on the menu.
  You can select layouts in the Assign layouts dialog box and drag them to the tree view. Layouts that have already been assigned to a structural level are marked by ; named layouts and layouts that are in use are indicated by and , respectively. Positioning the cursor over a layout already assigned displays a ToolTip with information on the folder to which this layout is assigned. You can use the shortcut menu to display the layout in the corresponding folder. The layout folder opens and the layout is highlighted in color.
  You can sort the layouts by type, number, name or size. Just click the relevant column head. Clicking again inverts the sort direction. The direction is indicated by an arrow.
• You can use Assign layouts... on the shortcut menu of the structural level.
  Enter the layout numbers as follows:
  • You can select individual layouts by entering their numbers separated by commas or spaces, e.g. 10,12,19.
  • Enter a range separated by hyphens, e.g. 10-19.

    You can also combine these two methods, e.g. 10,12,14-19,21.

    Clicking Selection list opens the Assign layouts dialog box, where you can assign layouts as described above.

Note: Each layout can be assigned to one structural level. If selected layouts have already been assigned, you can assign them as links.
