Component reinforcement

Module(s): Structural Precast Elements

You can use the Component Reinforcement tool to create reinforcement for a straight stair with or without landings you have created using the Structural Precast Element tool.

Right-clicking in the input area of the palette opens a shortcut menu where you can show and hide the graphics at the top of the palette and the description at the bottom.
In addition, you can add the currently selected area or parameter to the quick input list and move QuickInput to the top of the palette so that it is the first tab displayed in the palette. Similarly, you can remove the currently selected area or parameter from the quick input list. As soon as you remove the last parameter from the quick input list, the QuickInput tab is hidden. To make sure that QuickInput is always open when the palette starts, select Start with QuickInput on the shortcut menu.

To create reinforcement for a straight stair

  1. Click Component Reinforcement (How).

You can see the parameters of the last stair you created or modified.

  2. If necessary, specify the Type of reinforcement placed at the bottom and top of the stair and define the geometrically independent parameters of the stair reinforcement or load a favorite file.
  3. Click the required precast stair.

The geometry of the stair is analyzed and the reinforcement expands. If errors occur, a warning is displayed. In this case, change the Type of reinforcement placed at the bottom and top, in particular.

Note: If you access this tool straight from the toolbox of the Structural Precast Element tool, the stair created with this tool is automatically reinforced using the parameters you set last.

  4. Define all the parameters of the stair reinforcement or change them, if necessary. Then press ESC to create the stair reinforcement.

Note that analyzing the stair geometry may automatically change the reinforcement placed at the bottom and top as well as show or hide some parameter areas.

Note: You can use Match to match the reinforcement parameters of a different stair.
You can use Save as a favorite to save the settings and Load favorite to read the settings back into the palette, where you can modify them. Click Favorite QuickSelect to select from the five favorites you have used most recently. If you selected a precast stair when you saved the favorite, the program creates a suitable favorite file for the current stair geometry. When you load a favorite, the dialog box only presents the favorite files that are suitable for the current stair geometry if you have already selected the precast stair.
