Lengthen Lines
You can use the
Lengthen Lines tool to modify the offset between two points or the included angle of an arc.
To lengthen lines
- Click
Lengthen Lines (How). - Click the first point.
This point will remain unchanged.
- Click the second point.
The first and second point are displayed in construction line format. The offset distance between the two points is displayed in the dialog line.
- Enter the new offset in one of the following ways:
- Enter the offset in the dialog line and press Enter to confirm.
- Click a point. The system drops a perpendicular from this point onto the extension of the two points and the second point is moved as far as the point of intersection.
Example
To modify the included angle of an arc, clothoid or spline
- Click
Lengthen Lines (How). - Click the element whose settings you want to modify.
- Click the start point of the entity.
This point will remain unchanged.
- Click the end point of the entity.
The end point is selected. The included angle is displayed in the dialog line.
- Enter the new angle in one of the following ways:
- Enter the angle in the dialog line and press Enter to confirm.
- Click a point. The endpoint is extended as far as the line between the point you clicked and the center of the arc.
