Transferring elements

Module(s): Precast Slab + Precast Wall + Structural Precast Elements

You can use the Transfer Elements tool to transfer fixtures and reinforcement to (partly) identical precast elements. You can transfer the selected elements from the source precast element to one or more destination precast elements at the same time.

When transferring From precast element - To precast element, it is irrelevant whether the destination precast elements are rotated as the elements are always transferred from the local origin of the source precast element to the local origins of the destination precast elements. Even when transferring From point - To point, Allplan rotates the selected elements so that they are positioned correctly.

To transfer fixtures and reinforcement to existing precast elements

  1. Click Transfer Elements (How).
  2. Make basic settings for the transfer in the input options.
  3. Click the source precast element and select all the elements you want to transfer.
You can also use the Precast Element filter on the Filter Assistant toolbar.

Note: Clicking a fixture in a fixture group or a single bar belonging to a group (a placement, a longitudinal bar or stirrup of a stirrup cage or a longitudinal bar of a bent-up mesh, for example) always selects the entire group. You cannot select individual elements in a group.

FF reinforcement cages created across several elements cannot be transferred.

  4. Specify the reference point for the transfer if Point entry is active in the input options.

Note: To define the point clearly, use an isometric view. When you click points in a two-dimensional view (placing drawing, layout plan, element plan, for example), Allplan always uses the point that is farthest away in the viewing direction.

  5. Select the destination precast elements.
You can only click one precast element if Point entry is selected in the input options.

If Check geometry is active in the input options and you have selected only one precast element that is not identical to the source precast element, Allplan will display a warning and cancel the transfer. If you have selected several precast elements, you will not see a warning.

  6. If necessary, cancel the selection of the Check geometry option and/or change the setting of the Turn direction of span option and select the destination precast elements again.
  7. Specify the drop-in point for the elements to be transfered if Point entry is active in the input options.

If the drop-in point causes one of the elements to be placed outside the selected precast element, Allplan will display a warning and cancel the transfer.

  8. Specify more drop-in points or press ESC to select a new destination precast element if Point entry is active in the input options.
  9. Specify more destination precast elements or press ESC to select a new source precast element.
