Using pattern lines

You can use the Modify Pattern Lines tool to change the parameters of existing pattern lines.

Note: You can also use this tool to convert any element to pattern lines. You can use the Filter by Pattern Line Property filter to exclude elements from this operation.

To modify the parameters of existing pattern lines

1. Click Modify Pattern Lines (How).
   

   Activate Modify Pattern Line in one of the following ways

   • Menu bar: Modify Draft

   • Palette: Tools Modify area in the following module(s):

   Draft

2. Select the pattern lines whose parameters you want to modify or the elements which you want to convert to pattern lines.
   

   • To select a single element, click it.
   • To select elements in a region, use the left mouse button to open a selection rectangle around the elements you want to select
   • To include all the elements in the current document, click All in the Input options or press CTRL+A. Please note that this option is not available for all tools.

   When selecting elements, you can use the Filter Assistant to apply a filter based on element types and/or properties. For more information, see Filter Assistant.

3. Select a different pattern line or change the parameters of the pattern line.
