Pattern lines and scale
Using pattern lines
The size of a pattern line or pattern element and its display at different scales depend on two factors:
- The height and width of an pattern element. You can set these values in the pattern line settings.

- The Constant height, width in layout option. This option can also be set in the pattern line settings.

- When the Constant height, width in layout option is enabled, the size of the pattern elements in layouts always remains constant, regardless of the scale at which the layout elements have been placed The size of a pattern element is the product of the size (see above) multiplied by 1/100. When the height is set to 1m, for example, the element is displayed at a height of 1cm in the layout.
- When the Constant height, width in layout option is not enabled, the size of the pattern elements in the layout changes dynamically with the scale at which the layout elements have been placed. The size of a pattern element is the product of the size (see above) multiplied by the scale. When the height is 1m at 1:100, the element is displayed at a height of 1cm in the layout; at a scale of 1:50 it is 2cm high.
