Using line styles + Using area styles + Using drawing types

You can use this dialog box to manage and create line styles, area styles and drawing types and to define settings.

How to access the dialog box

• When you are working with Workgroup Manager, you must be logged in as the administrator. Otherwise, you cannot make any changes.
  

  Workgroup Manager handles the organization of CAD workstations in local networks. The Workgroup Manager module enables users to access all projects on all computers from every workstation. It ensures data consistency even if several users are simultaneously working on the same project.

General settings

Show definition of scale

When you enable this option, the settings for the individual scale ranges are displayed.

Show definition of drawing type

When you enable this option, the settings for the individual drawing types are displayed.

The drawing type defines how elements are displayed on screen and in the printout. The display of the elements varies depending on the selected drawing type. Requirements: the format properties are taken from the layer (in a fixed manner) and the use of line styles is selected. In document mode, drawing types can be selected in the status bar, and in the Layout module, you can make a selection when you place layout elements.

The status bar is the bottom line in the Allplan application window. Different types of information are displayed in the status bar.

You can select a line style and define its settings in the fields below.

New, manage

You can create new line styles or manage existing line styles.

'Drawing type' column

The defined drawing types are displayed (only when you have selected Show definition of drawing type).

'Group' column

You can select a group for the line style. To create a new group, enter a new name hat has not yet been assigned.

'Scale 1:x' column

The scale ranges for which the settings apply are displayed (only when you have selected Show definition of scale). The settings up to the arithmetic mean relative to the next scale range apply.

'Pen, Line, Color' columns

You can make pen, line and color settings for the drawing type/scale range. You can also use the as construction line setting. Elements drawn on this layer are then displayed using the line and color of construction lines. However, these elements are not ‘real’ construction lines and they are not selected when you apply the construction lines filter.

Elements in construction line format are drawing aids. They are not included in printouts you create using the Layout module. When printing straight from the print preview, you can specify whether construction lines are to appear in printouts. The line type and color of construction lines can be changed in the Options. You can use Construction Line on/off on the Format toolbar to specify whether elements are drawn as construction lines. Use Show/Hide to globally show or hide elements drawn as construction lines.

You can select an area style and define its settings in the fields below.

New, manage

You can create new area styles or manage existing area styles.

'Drawing type' column

The defined drawing types are displayed (only when you have selected Show definition of drawing type).

Group column

You can select a group for the area style. To create a new group, enter a new name hat has not yet been assigned.

'Scale 1:x' column

The scale ranges for which the settings apply are displayed (only when you have selected Show definition of scale). The settings up to the arithmetic mean relative to the next scale range apply.

'Hatching' column

You can select a hatching style for the drawing type/scale range. Clicking the hatching opens a list box with the available hatching styles. Clicking opens the Hatching dialog box in which you can make more settings.

'Pattern' column

You can select a pattern for the drawing type/scale range. Clicking the pattern opens a list box with the available patterns. Clicking opens the Pattern dialog box in which you can make more settings.

Fill column

You can select a fill for the drawing type/scale range. Clicking the fill opens a list box with the available fills. Clicking opens the Select RGB Color dialog box in which you can make more settings.

'Bitmap area' column

You can select a bitmap area for the drawing type/scale range. Clicking the bitmap area opens the Bitmap Properties dialog box with the available surface files. Clicking opens the Bitmap area dialog box in which you can make more settings.

Drawing types

These icons are only available when you have selected the Show definition of drawing type setting.

Adds a new drawing type.

Deletes the drawing types selected.

Moves the selected drawing type to the bottom of the list.

Moves the selected drawing type down a level.

Moves the selected drawing type to the top of the list.

Moves the selected drawing type up a level.

Moves the group of the selected drawing type down a level.

Moves the group of the selected drawing type up a level.

Show IDs in lists

When you select this check box, the names and ID numbers of drawing types are displayed in lists.
