Properties of NPL files

Working with documents, NDW files and NPL files

NPL is the abbreviation for an Allplan PLan file. You can place layout elements in an NPL file, thus creating layouts. You can enter any name for an NPL-format file and save it to any folder (as opposed to a layout that always gets the name pb00????.npl (???? = layout number) and that is always saved to the project folder).

Only one layout can be open at any one time. As soon as you open a new layout or NPL file, Allplan will close the original file. The window with the NPL file is always maximized.

To place layout elements in NPL files, you must use the NDW Layout Element tool (How). You cannot place drawing files in NPL files.

Activate NDW Layout Element in one of the following ways

• Menu bar: Create Layout

• Toolbar: Basic Tools Layout flyout
• Palette: Tools Create area in the following module(s):
