Assign drawing files to filesets temporarily

Open on a project-specific basis

When you only require a drawing file temporarily (as a background drawing file, for example), you can also assign it temporarily to a fileset. This assignment is cleared when you switch to another fileset.

Drawing files assigned temporarily appear differently in the dialog box.

To assign drawing files temporarily to filesets

1. Click Open on a project-specific basis (How).
   

   Activate Open on a Project-Specific Basis... in one of the following ways

   • Menu bar: File

   • Keyboard: Ctrl+Alt+O

   • Toolbar: Standard

   Tip: You can also double click with the left mouse button in the workspace.

2. On the right in the dialog box select the drawing files you want to assign to the fileset.
   

   You select drawing files by clicking the drawing file numbers or the drawing file name.

   • To select a single drawing file, click it.
   • To select a series of non-adjacent drawing files, press and hold down the CTRL key and click the drawing files.
   • To select a range of drawing files, click the first drawing file in the range, then press the Shift key and click the last drawing file in the range at the same time.
   • To select all drawing files, press CTRL+A or click Select all drawing files on the shortcut menu. This selects all drawing files the drawing file view. This selects all drawing files of the current fileset in the tree structure. To undo the selection, click any drawing file or select Clear selection on the shortcut menu.
     Note: If the focus (name is highlighted in blue) is on a drawing file, CTRL+A selects all drawing files of this fileset; if the focus is on a fileset, all filesets are selected.

   Note: In tree view, you can only select several drawing files when they belong to the same fileset.

3. Assign the drawing files to a fileset in one of the following ways:
   • Press and hold down the SHIFT key and drag & drop the selected drawing files onto the relevant fileset.
     When you assign drawing files from a different fileset, the original assignment is retained.
   • Click the selection with the right mouse button and, on the shortcut menu that appears, click Assign Temporarily to Current Fileset.
