Modifying elements using the Properties palette

You can modify the current parameters of the selected multi-pitch roof plane using the Properties palette.

Right-clicking in the input area of the palette opens a shortcut menu where you can show and hide the graphics at the top of the palette and the description at the bottom.
In addition, you can add the currently selected area or parameter to the quick input list and move QuickInput to the top of the palette so that it is the first tab displayed in the palette. Similarly, you can remove the currently selected area or parameter from the quick input list. As soon as you remove the last parameter from the quick input list, the QuickInput tab is hidden. To make sure that QuickInput is always open when the palette starts, select Start with QuickInput on the shortcut menu.

This section provides detailed information on the parameter currently selected. If there is not enough space to display the entire text, three dots at the end of the text indicate that some text is missing. You cannot scroll the description.

To enlarge the section so that you can read the full text, you can increase the width of the entire palette and/or move the line separating the parameter area from the description up.

To modify the parameters of a multi-pitch roof plane

1. Click the multi-pitch roof plane you want to modify with the left mouse button or open the shortcut menu of the element and select Properties.

   You can also select several elements simultaneously and then choose Multi-pitch roof plane in the Properties palette.

   

   • To select a single element, click it.
   • To select elements in a region, use the left mouse button to open a selection rectangle around the elements you want to select
   • To include all the elements in the current document, click All in the Input options or press CTRL+A. Please note that this option is not available for all tools.

   When selecting elements, you can use the Filter Assistant to apply a filter based on element types and/or properties. For more information, see Filter Assistant.

   If you have selected several multi-pitch roof planes, the palette only displays the properties that are identical for all the elements. However, you can change different properties so that they form a common, new property.
   If the roof type of the selected multi-pitch roof planes differs, you cannot change the parameters in the plan area.

2. In the Properties palette, change the parameters in the plan area in accordance with the selected multi-pitch roof plane. Any changes you make to the parameters are updated immediately.
   • When you have selected a multi-pitch roof plane of rectangular outline, modify the Length and Width of the roof outline, the position of the ridge line and the setting that determines whether or not Hip/valley lines are created. In addition, change the number of the different regions and the offsets.
     

     No. of regions

     Enter the number of regions. You can specify different offsets for the hip lines and valley lines.

     Region no.

     Click and to select the region you want to define. Then enter the Number of offsets and define the Line spacing.

   • When you have selected a general multi-pitch roof plane, modify the Roof outline, Ridge and/or the Hip/valley lines by clicking Enter start of ... in the relevant line and defining the new geometry.
3. Change the parameters of the roof plane in the Properties palette.
   

   Roof slope on the left / right
   Slope on the left / right

   Slope of the roof in [degrees] or as a [%]. The corresponding value adjusts automatically.

   Elevation of lower plane

   Height of lower plane in unit of length set.

   Height of ridge

   Height of ridge in unit of length set.

   Delta height 1, 3, 5, ... / 2, 4, 6, ...

   Values used to raise or lower the hip/valley lines. The program provides separate settings for even and odd numbers of hip/valley lines.

   Any changes you make to the parameters are updated immediately.

4. If necessary, select more multi-pitch roof planes or press ESC to quit modification.
   

Note: You can use Save as a favorite to save the settings and Load favorite to read the settings back into the palette, where you can modify them. Click Favorite QuickSelect to select from the five favorites you have used most recently.
Click Options to modify the settings of the Configuration menu.
