Copy and delete layout elements

Tool(s): Layout Catalog

You can copy and delete entire element plans as well as individual sheets, label styles, tables or views and sections.

If you wish to use the same layout for two different element types, for example, it makes sense to copy the entire element plan. Start by creating the entire element plan for the first type. Then copy the element plan and change the name, element type and the viewing directions.

Top copy element plans and sheets

  1. Select the relevant element in the tree structure or overview.

Element plans can only be selected in the tree structure; anchors only in the overview.

  2. Click Copy in the toolbar at the top.
  3. Select the relevant element in the tree structure or overview and adjust the parameters of the layout elements in the palette displayed in the Properties area on the right.

Note: If you wish to change the position of a layout element within the tree structure, click the relevant element with the left mouse button, keep the mouse button pressed down and drag it to its new position.
When you use this approach to drag an element plan beyond the lower end of the tree structure, the relevant element plan is copied. When you drag any other layout element into a different element plan, a copy of the element is created there.

To delete layout elements

  1. Select the relevant element in the tree structure or overview.

Element plans can only be selected in the tree structure; anchors only in the overview.
