Converting plan catalogs from earlier versions and importing layouts

You can use Import Layouts to import layouts from plan catalogs of earlier versions or from other layout catalogs. The program converts the entries of the plan catalog.

To convert or import layouts

1. Click Import Layouts in the toolbar at the top.
2. Click Next > to confirm the first dialog box.
3. Click and specify the folder with the layouts and/or plan catalogs of earlier versions.
4. Specify whether you want to import a plan catalog (plan.cat) or a layout catalog (layout.cat). If the specified folder contains only one plan catalog or layout catalog, you cannot make this selection and the correct type is set automatically.
5. Depending on the selected catalog, specify the type and scope of the import and click Next > to confirm.
   • If you have selected a plan catalog, decide whether the converted element plans are to be added or whether they are to replace all existing entries.
   • If you have selected a layout catalog, select the layouts to be imported. These layouts are always added to the existing layout catalog.

     Note: If you convert or import element plans that have the same names as existing plans, they are marked as incorrect. The names of element plans in the layout catalog must be unique.

     

     Incorrect definitions of layout elements are indicated by the error icon in the tree structure. Pointing to an incorrect layout element in the tree structure displays a ToolTip with a short description of the error(s).

     To get an overview of all the errors in the active element plan, click Error List in the toolbar at the top. The program displays a separate window that lists all incorrect layout elements in a tree structure, providing detailed information on the individual errors.

     You can also open the Error list when you quit the layout catalog and a message appears announcing that there are errors.

6. If necessary, assign individual entries of the plan catalog to entries in the layout catalog and click Next > to confirm.

   Note: If you defined common element plan layouts for different element types such as walls and slabs in an earlier version, they are converted to several layouts. The same applies to double and solid walls, which used to be combined into one element plan. Now you need to create two separate layouts for these two types.

7. Check the new element plans and click Finish when the conversion or import is complete.
   

Note: If you quit the layout catalog without saving the changes, the converted element plans will be lost.
