Select the Automatic layer control in precast modules option if you want to create precast elements, element labels, reinforcement generated automatically, fixtures, ... on predefined layers. You might ask what the difference is between usual Allplan layers and automatic layer control:

• In automatic mode, predefined layers are associated with the tools. In other words, the layer is set automatically when you select a tool. You cannot switch layers.
• All elements you create while a tool is active (e.g. placing regions, slab panels, mark numbers, text, bending shape symbols, reinforcement, girders etc.) are automatically given the correct, predefined layer.
• If you want to use numbers from your own layer structures, you can change the predefined layer numbers. All you need to do is double-click the relevant field and enter a new number.

  Note: User-defined layer numbers are saved in the FTWLayerAss.ldf file in the STD folder.

• These changes only apply after you have restarted Allplan. When saving, the program displays an appropriate message.
• You can use Reset to defaults (selected entry or everything) to restore the default layer numbers.
  • To reset all numbers, do not select any number and then click . Allplan resets the numbers as soon as you confirm the prompt displayed.
  • To reset a single number, select it and then click . Allplan does not issue a confirmation prompt.
    

Note: Automatic layer control is included in the office standard. Therefore, you cannot save or load it using Save Configuration and Load Configuration. A message indicating this is displayed when you select layer control.
