Moving Drawing Files
You can move drawing files both between projects and within a project. When you move drawing files, you can retain the spacing between them, move so that they are inserted in ascending order, or you can select an arbitrary order.
To move drawing files
- ProjectPilot and open the folder with the drawing files you want to move.
- the drawing files you want to move.
- Click the selection with the right mouse button and select Move to... on the shortcut menu.
- Under Project select the project where the drawing files are to be moved.
- Define the destination numbers in one of the following ways:
- To retain the spacing between drawing file numbers: Select a single drawing file number and then click Map source. The drawing files are inserted, starting at the selected drawing file number, and in such a way that the spacing between files is the same as that of the source drawing files.
- To insert drawing files without retaining the spacing between files: Select a single destination drawing file number. The drawing files are inserted in ascending order, starting with the selected drawing file number.
- To arrange the drawing file on specific drawing file numbers: Select the desired destination drawing file numbers. The number of destination numbers must match the number of source drawing files/layouts exactly.
- Click OK to confirm the settings.
Tip: You can also move files by dragging and dropping them in the drawing file folder in a different project. Press and hold the SHIFT key while dragging. With this method, however, you cannot control the destination drawing file numbers. The destination drawing file numbers in this case match those of the source drawing files.
