  5. Click horizontal or vertical to specify whether a horizontal element or a vertical element is to be created.
  6. Define the cross-section by entering the number of corners in the Polygon with … corners box.
  7. Enter a meaningful Name for the cross-section.
  8. Enter the Width, Height of the cross-section (in mm).
  9. If you want to use a custom outline for the cross-section, click querschnitt_holen Get cross-section and select a closed 2D polyline.

  11. Define the other geometric parameters by entering values for the X offset, Y offset, Z offset and the Length.
  12. If you want to use a customized 3D geometry for the element, click objekt_holen Get geometry and click the 3D geometry you want to use.

Note: You need to rotate the 3D geometry so that it is in the correct position before you match it. In other words, a vertical post element must be upright. The base edge of the later railing is parallel to the X axis.

  14. When you create a vertical element, it may be necessary to define the division style. Enter values for Division, Offset, Offset at start and Offset at end.

Note: The following values are particularly important for division styles.

An element in the middle of a field gets the following settings:
Offset: 999999999; Offset at start: 0; Fix: OK; Offset at end: 0; Fix: OK

An element at the start of a field gets the following settings:
Offset: 999999999; Offset at start: 0; Fix: OK; Offset at end: 0; Fix: _

An element at the end of a field gets the following settings:
Offset: 999999999; Offset at start: 0; Fix: _; Offset at end: 0; Fix: OK

  15. Click Color and select the color you want to use for the element.

Note: Do not select color 0 (white). Otherwise, the element may not be visible in Allplan!
