The individual components that go to make up a railing are usually defined as smart symbols. All the elements of the same geometry are combined into one smart symbol.

The individual smart symbols of a railing are linked hierarchically. The parent smart symbol is the path along which the railing was created.

This link is necessary; otherwise, the railing could not be addressed as a whole in Allplan.

Smart symbols can be replaced using the Replace Smart Symbol tool.
