Copy drawing files to a different structural level

You can copy several drawing to a different structural level in a single step and then adjust the height of the default reference planes to the new structural level. This way, when the floor plan is similar across multiple floors, you can quickly generate several floors without having to draw each one from scratch.

To copy drawing files to a different structural level

  1. Select the drawing files you want to copy and click Copy on the shortcut menu.
  2. Using the right mouse button, click the structural level under which the drawing files are to be inserted, then click Add under... on the shortcut menu.
  3. Specify the number at which the program is to start inserting the drawing files and click OK.

As the drawing files are still associated with the default reference planes from the original structural level, the height of the default reference planes is displayed in blue.

  4. To assign the height of the new structural level to the drawing files, select the drawing files, click the selection with the right mouse button and on the shortcut menu choose Assign planes.
  5. The Assign planes dialog box appears. Select the lower and upper default reference plane you want to assign to the drawing files. You can also use default reference planes from different pairs of planes; however, you cannot choose planes from different plane models.
