Various large-format printers (e.g. DesignJet 650, 750, 800) are capable of displaying information on print jobs on the display while printing and/or managing jobs in the queue.
This is also possible if you use the HPGL2_DESIGNJET or HPCOL_DESIGNJET Allplan vector drivers.
Select the Layout module - 
Print Layouts tool - Printer tab - More settings area - Set Special settings - Device-specific default values and change the Display text [1/0] setting for each output channel you require. Click the 0.00000e+000 value in this line, set it to "1" and confirm.
During print operations, the project name (up to 8 characters)
and the layout number appear on the printer display.
For example, DesignJet 800 / project name: "Detached House" / layout = 1. On the printer display:
Detached 0001

Note: You need to make this setting for all the workstations and/or users (when working with Workgroup Manager) and for all output channels.
In a network environment in which the Workgroup Manager is installed, every user can apply the settings made by the system administrator by clicking the ‘Reset’ button (needs to be done separately for every output channel).
