You require an HP GL/2&RTL add-in card to use the HP DesignJet 500 printer in conjunction with Allplan vector drivers (HPGL2_DESIGNJET or HPCOL_DESIGNJET).
The basic version of this printer does not include this card. Without this card, the HP DesignJet 500 printer is not capable of processing HP-GL/2 commands, which are required for using output channels.
Note: You can also purchase and integrate this add-in card later.
As an alternative, you can use Windows drivers.
