Entering American units (feet / inches)

To enter American units

1. Open the Options on the Desktop environment page. In the General area, set the length to Feet and inches, the format to Fraction or decimal and the precision to x/4.
2. Enter a length of 3 feet 5 1/4 inch as follows:

   3.5.1.4 - in words: 3[point]5[point]1[point]4

   or as an alternative: 3' 5 1/4 or 3' 5,25

   Note: If the unit of length is set to Inches, you cannot enter a value in feet in this way. Instead, enter 41.1.4 (3 feet 5 inches= 41 inches).
