Dimension line parameters, input options tab

Dimension line parameters dialog box

No extension lines

When this option is selected, no extension lines are drawn.

Bounded by user polyline (not for Elevation Point)

Allplan will draw the extension lines as far as an auxiliary polygon you enter after you have defined the dimension line. This way, you can have the extension lines stretch so that they are at a set distance from the dimensioned components.

Depending on the input direction, Allplan interprets the value you enter for the distance as a positive or negative offset. Basically, a positive offset is applied to the right in the input direction.

Offset to reference point (not for Elevation Point)

The extension lines stretch so that they are at a set distance from the dimensioned point (reference point). You can enter the distance in Length in mm/inches.

To reference point (only for Elevation Point)

Allplan will draw the extension lines as far as the reference point.

Predefined length

When you select this option, all extension lines get a fixed length and stretch towards the dimensioned points.

Length in mm/inches (model)

Depending on the setting, you enter the value defining the Predefined length or the Offset to reference point.

Offset between dimension lines in mm/inches (paper)

Enter a value to define the offset between the dimension lines of a dimension block, for example.

Note: The parameters you define here on the Input Options tab help you create dimension lines. Allplan will not adopt these parameters when you use the shortcut menu of the dimension line to create an additional dimension line of the same type.

Note: When you save the dimension line parameters as a favorite file using , the resulting favorite file will include the parameters of the Input Options tab.
