Entity-Based Component

To draw an entity-based component along a part of a closed outline

• First you need to create the basic 2D entities in the Draft module.
• Open the Options - Desktop environment - Display page - Element marker area and select the check boxes for the Element control symbol and Element direction symbol. Now the start and control points of the 2D entities are displayed.
• A tool for creating linear components is active (e.g. Wall or Strip Foundation). You have already defined the component’s parameters.

1. Enter the starting point of the component. Click any point on the closed outline.

   The component is attached to the crosshairs. The position of the component axis and its direction of extension are displayed in the preview. In the case of components with multiple construction layers (e.g. walls), you can see the component setup and the thickness of the various layers. The position of the fist layer is identified by the number 1, which is displayed in the color associated with the component axis.

2. Now check the preview to see whether the component’s offset direction is correct, and if necessary, click Reverse offset direction on the context toolbar to change its offset direction.

   You can change this setting at any time while entering components.

3. Enter the end point of the component. Click any point on the closed outline.
4. Click the part of the closed outline along which the component is to be created.

   The entity-based component is drawn along the outline defined by the start and end points.
