Applying blanking to label styles

You can also define label styles that cut out hatching, patterns or fills of architectural elements underneath.

There are two ways to do this:

• Label styles with fills
  If the label style contains a fill, this fill is always drawn on top of existing hatching, patterns or fills. This creates the cutout Using white fills, you can achieve the same result as with the second option.
  In addition, this allows you to define fills in different sizes for use at various scale ranges.
• Label styles with closed polylines
  If the label style contains a closed polyline, an architectural surface element (e.g. hatching, pattern or fill) underneath is cut out and blanking is applied to the label.
  
  This does not affect ”normal” elements such as lines, circles, curves or ellipses:
  Here, you need to draw these lines using Polyline (How) or create polylines using Combine Lines to Make Polylines (How).
  The polyline has to be closed and entered in a clockwise direction. You can do this quickly and easily using the polyline entry tools.
  

  Activate Combine Lines to Make Polylines in one of the following ways

  • Menu bar: Change Draft

  • Palette: Tools Change area in the following module(s):

  Draft

  3D Modeling

  

  Activate Polyline in one of the following ways

  • Menu bar: Create Draft

  • Toolbar: Basic Tools Draft flyout
  • Palette: Tools Create area in the following module(s):

  Draft

  Advanced Draft

  Site Plan

  Note: The program hides the polyline after you have placed the label style.
