Insert a tendon point relative to the position of a reference point or grid point

To insert a tendon point with ecc.

  1. Click insert tendon point with ecc..
  2. If applicable, select the respective structural member in the 3D view window (only in case of several girders/axes).

Note: If there only exists one structural member of the type girder and when defining additional tendon points in a tendon, this step is omitted, since the structural member is selected automatically. However, to change the structural member in these cases (e.g. to another girder or pier), select (mark) the respective structural member in the tab Structure/Structural Members. Also use this function to change to another structural member during the input.

After having selected a structural member for the first time, you can choose via the option Keep Structural Member in the Properties window, if the currently selected structural member should be kept for the definition of the next tendon point (default) or if you want to perform a new selection of a structural member.

  3. Click the respective station in one of the graphical view windows (3D-Model, Plan or Profile).

Note: If an existing station is detected, the cross section assigned at this position is displayed in the cross section window. If you click a position between two existing stations, a dialog opens for inserting a new station at this point.

If applicable, before selecting the station, select the Side for the cross section after (FRONT) or before (BACK) the station point in the Properties window. Using the option Auto (default), the side FRONT is set for the first and all intermediate stations of the structural member, and the side BACK for the last station.

  4. Click the respective point (reference point or grid point) in the cross section of the cross section window to define the eccentricity of the tendon at this station.
  5. Input the respective eccentricities (u/v) relative to the reference point in the appearing text box (relative coordinates u/v – see directions in the cross section window).

Note: You can switch between the two input boxes for the coordinates u and v with the tab key or by clicking with the mouse.

Alternatively, you can define the position directly with the mouse cursor. Confirm the input in both cases with the enter key or the left mouse button.

  6. Directly insert further tendon points (back to 2.) or quit the tool with ESC.
