Variables

By using variables cross section dimensions such as distance or direction angle of parametric lines may be defined as variable. For that purpose, create a respective variable in the Project navigation window and assign it to a parametric line in the Property window after editing it in the View window.

Different types of variables are available to be used in accordance with the actual application case:

• Length

  For parametric lines of the type parallel or for individual parametric points

• Angle

  For parametric lines of the type angle (definition of the angle in the respectively defined unit, e.g. degree)

• Percent

  For parametric lines of the type angle (definition of the angle or rather inclination / cross fall in percent)

• Temperature

  For Property Sets of the type temperature

• Reinforcement area

  For Property Sets of the type Reinforcement longitudinal

• Reinforcement per length

  For Property Sets of the type shear and torsion

• Structure length

  Use the length unit defined for the structure instead of the length unit defined for the cross section (see Project Settings).

To generate a new variable

1. Click with the right mouse button on the menu Variables to open the context menu and select a New Variable oft he required type.

   A new variable is created in the navigation tree.

2. Optionally edit the name and confirm with the enter key.
3. Define the default value of the variable in the Properties window. Note: This value can be overwritten later by assigning tables or formulas.
