Create and assign a variable

Create and assign a variable to a parametric line or a parametric point in one step

This tool is only available via the context menu of parametric lines and parametric points.

Use this tool after selecting a parametric line to directly assign a (yet not existing) variable to it, which is simultaneously created in the same step.

To create and assign a variable

1. Click the wished parametric line and select the tool Create and assign variable in the context menu.
2. Edit the name, the value and the description of the variable in the opening input window,

   Note: The type of the variable is detected depending on the type of the defined param. line and can only be changed in certain cases (e.g. angle from degree to percent). The default value is the value currently assigned to the line.

3. Confirm the input with OK.

   The variable is created with the respective value in the submenu of the variables of the cross section. Further, the variable is now assigned to the param. line (see property window of the param. line).

4. Use the tool on further param. lines or quit it with ESC.

Note: When using the tool for parametric points, proceed analogously, whereby you can perform the definition for each direction (Z/Y) - use the checkboxes for activating/deactivating the respective directions).
